(610 Sports) – The Chiefs are set to take on Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on October 2nd of the upcoming 2022 NFL season, setting up a rematch of Super Bowl LV.
The Week 4 game was announced ahead of the full NFL regular-season schedule release set to be announced Thursday evening.
The sixth meeting between Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes will be broadcast on "Sunday Night Football," a series that Brady leads 3-2 over Mahomes. It will be the first time the teams have squared off since the Bucs bested the Chiefs, 31-9, on Feb. 7, 2021 in Super Bowl LV.
Both teams won division titles in 2021, but neither were able to return to the Super Bowl.
Mahomes passed for 4,839 yards and 37 touchdowns last season and led the Chiefs to their fourth consecutive trip to the AFC Championship Game, where they lost to the Cincinnati Bengals. Brady led the league with a career-high 5,316 passing yards and 43 touchdowns in 2021, his second season with the Buccaneers.
The full 2022 NFL schedule will be released tonight at 7 p.m. CT on NFL Network and NFL.com.
