Chiefs Insider explains what makes 2022 team so 'refreshing'

Things have gone pretty well in Kansas City through the first two weeks of the NFL season. Though any team with Patrick Mahomes is going to be a Super Bowl favorite, this Chiefs team has impressed many with how strong they've looked right out of the gate, a far cry from some of their early-season struggles in year's past. Speaking with 610's Cody and Gold after the team's big win on Thursday Night, Chiefs Insider Pete Sweeney explained why he's been so pleased with the performances so far.

"I just think this version of the Chiefs is a little bit refreshing," Sweeney said. "I find that, of course, you have Patrick Mahomes and of course you have Travis Kelce and Chris Jones. You do have the stars that are on this team. But I feel like now, more than ever – and I don't think it's just one player, I think it's a couple players and a culture change – it just seems like a really solid team ... I'm thinking that the second iteration of Patrick Mahomes could almost be a year early. I think this team, as a team, could maybe accomplish more things than that previous version."
