Chiefs Insider: "I'm ready for that next offensive weapon to step up"

Before the NFL week turns over tomorrow, there's time for one last round of relitigating the Chiefs' Week 13 loss to Cincinnati. Though the Chiefs didn't play terribly, some uncharacteristic performances played a key role in the 27-24 loss. While speaking to 610's Fescoe In The Morning on Tuesday, Chiefs Insider Pete Sweeney talked about how, in his opinion, it's the offense that needs to tighten things up over the next month if they want to avoid playing like that again.

"I'm wondering what the Chiefs end up doing here as they move forward," he said. "Because there were a lot of those blitzes in the game, and you're trying to go to Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and I think we were very excited that he could be this all-around receiver that he couldn't be in Green Bay. He's kind of been the same guy he's been in Green Bay. I'm ready for that next offensive weapon to step up. JuJu's been good, but I think he's been sort of slow to get back to form after having to miss that game due to a concussion, and I think it's something that can be figured out in the last 5 weeks. When it comes time for the playoffs, I feel like this team will be pretty clean offensively."
