The Kansas City Chiefs were given quite a scare late in the second quarter on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.
Tight end Travis Kelce limped to the locker room with an apparent lower leg injury when he rolled his ankle on the US Bank Stadium turf after making a catch and falling to the ground without any contact.
CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson reported that Kelce threw his helmet in frustration as he came off the field and was pointing toward his right foot.
Kelce, whose personal life involving pop star Taylor Swift has taken center stage in recent weeks, was deemed questionable to return at halftime and was seen jogging back onto the field at the start of the third quarter.
His official designation remained questionable, but he returned to action during the Chiefs' second series of the third quarter.
The 33-year-old has been an reliable target for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense over the years and he’s also had a relatively healthy career, hardly missing any games.
However, he did miss Week 1 this year with a knee injury and now it appears there is another injury at least worth monitoring going forward.
