Patrick Mahomes posted a photo with his fiancée, Brittany Matthews, and newborn daughter, Sterling, to celebrate Easter on Sunday but some grew alarmed about something else they saw:

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback was still in a walking boot after undergoing surgery on a torn plantar plate, aka turf toe, in February.

Former NFL punter Pat McAfee tweeted at Mahomes if his foot is all good, and the 2018 MVP put everyone at east.

“Lolol yeah all good,” he replied, with a thumbs up.

Mahomes had the surgery following the Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss to the Bucs. At the time, Kansas City Star reporter Sam McDowell wrote that rehab for Mahomes’ injury would be extensive but he would be “fully ready by training camp,” per a source.

The 25-year-old quarterback first appeared to injure his foot during the first half of the Chiefs’ 22-17 AFC Divisional playoff win over the Cleveland Browns — in which he exited the game in the second half due to a possible concussion.

While he was being monitored in the concussion protocol, concerns about Mahomes’ foot lingered throughout the remainder of the playoffs but the quarterback never used it as an excuse for his performance in the 31-9 Super Bowl loss.

“I can’t say the toe was a problem when I played two weeks ago and I played well on it,” Mahomes said after the Super Bowl, per McDowell. “If you’re playing football, you have to battle through injuries.”
