Responding to Cincinnati mayor Aftab Pureva's smack talk video he posted on social media prior to Sunday's game, Kelce proceeded to put the mayor in his place by using one of “The Rock’s” well-known quotes from his WWE days.

“I’ve got some words for the Cincinnati mayor,” Kelce said during an on-stage interview with Jim Nantz of CBS Sports. “Know your role and shut your mouth, you jabroni!”

Kelce's speech was well received by Johnson, who gave his stamp of approval on Twitter.

Joining 610 Sports' 'The Drive' on Tuesday afternoon, Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes was asked to give his two cents on Kelce's epic postgame speech and he was happy to oblige.

"I wish I had the quick thinking like Travis, man, he has like the greatest quotes of all time," said Mahomes. "I'm gonna have to start writing mine down before so I can get some quotes in there."

When asked about "The Rock's" cosigning of Kelce's postgame quote, Mahomes became one of us, sounding giddy with praise for Johnson, even though his days as a wrestler were before his time as a wrestling fan.

"Oh, I did see that," said Mahomes. "How crazy is that, man? The Rock, that's like the superstar of superstars! I could see Travis in that role one day. He might be someone that leaves football after, hopefully, another 5 to 10 years, he might be able to move into some sort of celebrity status like that."

Notice that Mahomes wasn't wishing Kelce away anytime soon, a true veteran move.
