Ever since the Chiefs traded for left tackle Orlando Brown Jr., it's been assumed that he'd sign a long-term deal to stay in Kansas City. At the beginning of this offseason, GM Brett Veach unsurprisingly placed the franchise tag on Brown, although there have been rumors swirling ever since that both sides were actively working towards a longer deal. Speaking with 610's Cody and Gold on Friday, Chiefs Insider Pete Sweeney talked about how he sees the situation playing out.
"I'm down on the Chiefs figuring this out," he said. "Because I think Brown wants top dollar, and I don't think the Chiefs can convince themselves ... I think there's a really good chance Brown plays on the tag ... I think he'll play on the tag because I don't think he's going to agree to less than top dollar. And he doesn't deserve it, and the Chiefs shouldn't give him top dollar."
