The Chiefs' 2022 schedule officially dropped last night, as a part of the NFL's manufactured schedule release event. Kansas City's opponents had been known for a while now, but the order in which they'd play them -- along with what time they'd be kicking off -- is now known, and dissected, and discussed more than a few times over. Speaking on 610's The Drive, Chiefs Insider Pete Sweeney talked about his biggest takeaway from a first glance at all 17 games.
"I think you get the really quick early season test," he said. "This is a testament to the Chiefs being in first place every year. You see the LA Chargers in a big time spot where everybody's watching. And not too long after you get the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Chiefs have been wildly successful this stretch, so when you're wildly successful in the NFL, there's not a ton of revenge because you're beating most of these teams. But I think what's popping out to me is there is a couple games that you see that just have added juice already. To me, Tampa Bay, that is obvious juice with the Super Bowl and how that went down. Cincinnati stands out. The LA Rams won the Super Bowl. You have the Denver Broncos, and those two games ... each and every week -- there will be some duds here and there -- there's just added juice that I don't think we've seen in a long time, because the Chiefs have gotten far but end up losing at the end of the year."
