There's no shortage of training camp stories to follow in St. Joe's this year, as a new-look Chiefs offense gets on the field against some of their highly-touted defensive rookies for the first time. Training Camp stocks rise and fall even more frequently than actual stocks, but while talking with 610's Cody and Gold this week, Chiefs Insider Pete Sweeney revealed who he thinks is having one of the best camps through the first week or so.
"The standout to me today was Noah Gray," Sweeney said. "You don't have Jody Fortson on the field, he's battling that quad injury. You had Noah Gray getting a little bit more of those first team opportunities where you would have seen Jody Fortson. I believe he only had one drop, but then must have had 5 or 6 catches and looked like he had some juice. We're all excited about Jody Fortson, but when Noah Gray was drafted, you had the scouts in Kansas City comparing him to Travis Kelce. So there's a sneaky little storyline there. I anticipate Fortson will be out 2-3 practices it seems like, with that quad. We may not see him until next week. So, Noah Gray, I think, stepped up."
