The Royals made some surprising news on Wednesday, when owner John Sherman called a press conference to announce that the team was letting president Dayton Moore go, effective immediately. Moore had been with the team for almost two decades, and was the major architect behind the 2015 World Series winners. Shortly after the news broke, Audacy MLB Insider Jon Heyman called into 610's The Drive to discuss the move.

"I think Dayton Moore is one of the best baseball guys around," he said. "Not many people as GM led a small market teams to World Series championship, and he got to a World Series twice with low revenue and low payroll. I think they have a good collection of prospects. They obviously didn't have a good team this year. I think it's a surprising move. I don't want to project how it'll turn out, but I think Dayton Moore is really good."
