Another member of the Royals' 2018 draft class will make his debut this year, as the team announced over the weekend that Jackson Kowar will be called up on Monday and start against the Angels.

Kowar's been one of the team's best minor leaguers in 2020, posting a 0.85 ERA with 41 strikeouts and 10 walks in 31.2 innings over six starts (5-0) for Triple-A Omaha. Since being picked 33rd overall by the Royals in the 1st round of the 2018 MLB Draft, Kowar -- who played at University of Florida with Brady Singer -- pitched 206.1 innings with a 3.10 ERA, 1.178 WHIP and averaged almost nine strikeouts per nine innings. Kowar will be the fourth pitcher from the team's 2018 draft class to make their debut this year, which, according to Elias Sports Bureau, this is just the fourth time a team has accomplished that feat.
