(610 Sports) - Week 7's Thursday Night NFL matchup between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles showcased two NFC East teams with one combined win between the two, yet somehow still offered the Giants an opportunity to sit tied atop the division with a win.
Unfortunately for the Giants, they fell just short, just like QB Daniel Jones on an 80-yard run where he stumbled in the open field, about 15 yards shorts of the end zone, with no defenders in sight. We all got a good chuckle at Jones' misfortune, including Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, who took to Twitter to both poke a little fun and still sympathize with Jones, at the same time.
"I mean I can’t even say anything cause I would never be able to run that far either," Mahomes tweeted, followed by several laughing emojis.
While Jones may have crashed and burned in the end, the second year quarterback impressively hit 21.23 mph on the run, the fastest clocked speed by a QB since 2018. You read that right, 21.23 mph, faster than Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murray, who are considered to be the most athletic quarterbacks in the NFL.
While the Giants signal caller may be struggling throwing the ball this year, much to do with the amount of injuries the team has suffered on offense, he's been very impressive on the ground, ripping off a 49-yard quarterback keeper just a week prior.
