DeLeone served as the Chiefs' inside linebackers coach this past season, which was his sixth in Kansas City. He and Bears coach Matt Nagy worked together from 2013-'17, and DeLeone will now serve under new Chicago defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano.
DeLeone is a 2009 graduate of the University of Iowa. He worked at the University of New Hampshire, the University of Florida and Temple University before joining the Jets as a defensive assistant in 2012. He was a defensive quality control coach for the Chiefs in 2013 and 2014 before being promoted to assistant linebackers coach, a position he held from 2015-'17.
DeLeone replaces Glenn Pires, who wasn't retained.
