Coach Matt Nagy confirmed the presence of Whitehair ahead of the Bears' practice Tuesday afternoon. Nagy added that backup tackle Rashaad Coward won't practice after suffering a left elbow injury during a preseason loss to the Giants on Friday.
Veteran guard Kyle Long will also return to practice Tuesday after the Bears issued an apparent internal suspension following his role in a heated altercation last Wednesday. Long removed the helmet of rookie defensive lineman Jalen Dalton and threw it in his direction. Long then didn't travel for the preseason game in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
"We’re past it," Nagy said. "Now, it’s not about talking anymore. For us, it’s about everybody showing what we can do. It’s showing by your actions, whether that’s being a good football player or being a good person. I always tell my kids, ‘Don’t talk about it; be about it.’ So, it’s time to start being about it."
The Bears will operate in their game week schedule during practice at Halas Hall the next three days.
