David Haugh (1-0): Texans 24, Bears 21
This might be the toughest game on the Bears schedule. The Texans have one of the most dangerous trios in the NFL in C.J. Stroud, Joe Mixon and Stefon Diggs. As good as the Bears defense is, the Texans likely will get their points. Hopefully for the Bears, their offense will get untracked with Caleb Williams, but winning a second straight game seems too tall a task.
Matt Spiegel (1-0): Texans 27, Bears 24
I can’t quite make the upset pick, but I may be kicking myself about it. The Bears offense makes serious strides, but with that comes one crucial Caleb Williams interception, which helps the Texans get the points that make the difference.
Paul Pabst (1-0): Texans 20, Bears 16
Chris Tannehill (1-0): Texans 24, Bears 20
This is a great test for a Bears defense that looked like it had elite potential in the opener against the Titans. It's an even bigger test for a Bears offense that looked clunky at best. They say the biggest jump in the NFL is from Week 1 to Week 2, and I'm curious to see how far Caleb Williams can jump. I don't think it will be enough as the Bears face an opponent that has never hosted Sunday Night Football.
Chris Emma (1-0): Texans 20, Bears 16
The Bears have started 2-0 just once in the last decade. They won't do it this time around either, coming up short against a tough Texans team in primetime.
Evan Thomas (0-1): Texans 31, Bears 17
The Bears are in for a tough Sunday in primetime on the road against one of the top teams in the AF. With Caleb Williams not playing well last week and the Bears dealing with injuries at key offensive skill positions, I’m expecting the Chicago offense to struggle.
Kevin Lapka (1-0): Texans 24, Bears 23
It's critical to recognize how to evaluate the Bears on Sunday. We know the defense is good, maybe even top-five good. The offense is a work in progress, but if there's improvement and the Bears win on the road against a Super Bowl contender on Sunday Night Football, there can be legitimate playoff run aspirations. I think the Bears will take a first-half lead, but in a battle between two of the league's most promising stars, Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud is ahead of the curve and will lead Houston to a win on the final drive.
Alex Kuhn (1-0): Texans 30, Bears 21
The Bears offense will fare better this week and we’ll see some moments from Caleb Williams, but the dynamic Texans offense will be too much in the end.
Tyler Ferengul (1-0): Texans 24, Bears 14
This is going to be a much tougher test for the Bears. I believe the Texans are for real, as they have the pieces on both sides of the ball to make a deep playoff run. And while I think the hungry Bears defense contains C.J. Stroud and the loaded Texans offense, they’ll find a way to outlast the Bears. Caleb Williams and the Bears offense will play better, but it won’t be good enough to beat what’s a legitimate Super Bowl contender in my eyes. The Texans are a better team right now and primed to take a huge step forward.
Robbie Triano (1-0): Texans 31, Bears 16
Remember all of those high expectations placed on the Bears this offseason? How the offense could be the best in Bears history? How this team is ready to fight for the playoffs? Well, that close victory over the Titans was a slap in the face to bring Bears fans back to reality. A win is a win, but my god, that was the ugliest of wins. The Bears offense was non-existent, Caleb Williams looked like a rookie quarterback and the offensive line was so bad it actually offended me. And while the defense played great, the Bears also played someone who puts mayonnaise in his coffee. C.J. Stroud is that dude and is surrounded by an arsenal of weapons. Sorry, Bears fans. This one won't be pretty.
Tyler Buterbaugh (1-0): Texans 27, Bears 17
We’ll see more from the Bears offense, but C.J. Stroud is a top quarterback and the Texans offense is even more dangerous this season, as we saw in Week 1. The Bears defense will put up a fight and could continue where it left off against the Titans, but Chicago needs more time to jell in the regular season before it earns a win against an opponent this good.
Sean Sears (1-0): Texans 27, Bears 20
Texans pass rushers Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter are good off the edges. That means Caleb Williams will need to pass from the pocket to have success. The Bears’ biggest concern is the interior of their offensive line, but fortunately for them, they won’t be facing defensive tackles as talented as the Titans’ Jeffery Simmons and T’Vondre Sweat in Week 1. Hopefully that helps the Bears’ running game, but I expect Williams to be under pressure in clear passing situations – and that could lead to turnovers. The Bears defense will prove it’s elite with a strong performance against C.J. Stroud and the Texans, but the offense will struggle in its first road test of the season as Chicago falls to 1-1.
