Bears activate nose tackle Eddie Goldman from reserve/COVID-19 list

His status for Saturday's preseason opener is unclear.

(670 The Score) On Friday afternoon, the Bears announced that nose tackle Eddie Goldman has been activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Goldman had been on the reserve/COVID-19 list for 10 days, after first being placed there on Aug. 3. It's still uncertain whether Goldman, who had returned to the team this season after opting out in the 2020, will play in the team's preseason opener against the Dolphins on Saturday.

He was notably absent from the Bears' first unofficial depth chart this week, as rookie Khyiris Tonga was listed as the starting nose tackle with Mike Pennel as backup. In order to make room for Goldman, the Bears also announced that they had waived receiver Thomas Ives.
