Bears add depth in secondary with 4 new signings

(670 The Score) The Bears have added to their secondary with four new signings amid a flurry of roster moves Tuesday.

The Bears signed defensive backs Millard Bradford, Mekhi Garner, Kaleb Hayes and Mark Perry. The team waived receiver John Jackson, kicker Jonathan Kim and safety Major Burns (injury designation), while cornerback Shaun Wade was placed on injured reserve.

The roster moves come amid injury issues in the Bears secondary. Pro Bowl cornerback Jaylon Johnson (leg) remains on the non-football injury list. Burns suffered a knee injury during in Chicago's preseason opener Sunday at Soldier Field.

The rookie Kim was competing with incumbent kicker Cairo Santos in training camp, but Santos' strong performance has assured him of the starting spot once again.

The Bears will return to practice Wednesday at Halas Hall.
