(670 The Score) The Bears are one of four teams eligible to be featured on HBO’s “Hard Knocks” documentary series this season, but if chairman George McCaskey has his way, it once again won't happen.
The Bears aren't interested in being the subject of the intense microscope on "Hard Knocks," McCaskey told reporters at the NFL’s league meetings in Arizona on Tuesday.
"We feel there are several teams that have compelling stories to tell on ‘Hard Knocks,’" McCaskey told reporters in Arizona, including Kevin Fishbain of the Athletic.
“Thirty-one others.”
Teams that haven't made the playoffs over the last two seasons, that have a head coach in at least his second season and that haven't been featured on the show for the past 10 years can be chosen by the NFL to be featured on "Hard Knocks." The Commanders, Jets and Saints are the other three teams that fit that criteria ahead of the 2023 season.
Should none of the eligible teams volunteer for “Hard Knocks,” one of them will be selected by the league.
In 2022, the Lions were featured in the training camp version of “Hard Knocks” while the Cardinals were subject of the show’s second ever in-season series.
