LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) — Bears nickel cornerback Kyler Gordon wasn't present for practice Wednesday and could miss time moving forward due to a hand injury.
Gordon suffered the injury in the Bears' 38-20 loss to the Packers on Sunday. Coach Matt Eberflus on Wednesday declined to reveal specifics on Gordon's status, including whether he'll be placed on injured reserve.
"It's his hand, we know that," Eberflus said. "I don't have any more information than that."
The Bears would likely turn to second-year cornerback Josh Blackwell to play the nickel role if Gordon is out Sunday. However, Blackwell (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday.
A second-round pick of the Bears in the 2022 NFL Draft, Gordon had three interceptions over 14 games as a rookie last season. Blackwell played in 16 games and started in one contest in 2022 while primarily playing a role on special teams.
The Bears' injury report Wednesday also listed linebacker Dylan Cole (hamstring) as a limited participant.
The Bears (0-1) and Buccaneers (1-0) kick off at noon CT on Sunday from Raymond James Stadium.
