LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) -- Bears center Lucas Patrick will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery to repair his injured toe, coach Matt Eberflus said Wednesday.

Patrick underwent the procedure several weeks ago, Eberflus said. Patrick suffered the toe injury on his right foot during the team’s 33-14 win over the Patriots on Oct. 24 at New England.

Patrick, 29, played in seven games, starting five. He signed a two-year contract in March, but his first season with Chicago was ravaged by injuries. He suffered a hand fracture during training camp in July, which forced him into a rotation at right guard to open the season.

Patrick was making his first start for the Bears at center during the game against the Patriots before he exited late in the first half after suffering the toe injury. Chicago has since turned to Sam Mustipher in his place at center.

The Bears (3-8) take on the Jets (6-4) on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
