Bears claim 2 players on waivers

(670 The Score) The Bears have claimed linebacker D'Marco Jackson and cornerback Jaylon Jones on waivers Wednesday.

Jackson was a fifth-round pick to the Saints in 2022 who played three seasons in New Orleans alongside then-head coach Dennis Allen, now the Bears' defensive coordinator. He has primarily played a role in special teams.

Jones spent the last three seasons with the Bears, signing in Chicago as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He spent this offseason with the Cardinals but was released this week.

The Bears released long snapper Scott Daly and wide receiver Devin Duvernay in corresponding roster moves. The team signed rookie long snapper Luke Elkin to the practice squad, their lone long snapper on the roster.

Daly, the primary long snapper last season, could land back with the Bears by next week.

The Bears signed 15 players to their practice squad: Elkin, wide receiver Maurice Alexander, wide receiver Miles Boykin, running back Brittain Brown, tight end Stephen Carlson, defensive lineman Xavier Carlton, linebacker Power Echols, cornerback Tre Flowers, defensive lineman Jonathan Ford, cornerback Mekhi Garner, defensive lineman Tanoh Kpassagnon, defensive lineman Jamree Kromah, tackle Jordan McFadden, wide receiver JP Richardson and center Ricky Stromberg.

The Bears still have one remaining spot open on their practice squad.
