Bears draft Rutgers running back Kyle Monangai in 7th round

(670 The Score) The Bears closed out their work in the 2025 NFL Draft by selecting Rutgers running back Kyle Monangai at No. 233 overall in the seventh round Saturday.

Monangai rushed for 1,279 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2024 after posting 1,262 rushing yards and eight scores on the ground in 2023. He never fumbled during his collegiate career.

Running back was a need for the Bears entering the draft, and they waited until their final pick to add Monangai as another option in the backfield. The Bears' running back group is led by veteran D'Andre Swift, who struggled in 2024 in the first season of a three-year, $24-million deal that he signed with Chicago.
