(670 The Score) Bears safety Eddie Jackson is taking advantage of a new NFL policy that relaxes rules on which position groups can wear certain numbers, switching to No. 4.
Jackson previously wore No. 39 but has now switched to his number from Alabama. As part of the rule passed in late April, players switching their jersey numbers must buy out the existing allotment of jerseys featuring their previous number.
The Bears also unveiled new jersey numbers for several returning players, free-agent signings and their rookie class.
Justin Fields, quarterback (rookie): No. 1
Damien Williams, running back (free agent): No. 8
Damiere Byrd, wide receiver (free agent): No. 10
Javon Wims, wide receiver (returning): No. 15
Khalil Herbert, running back (rookie): No. 24
Artie Burns, cornerback (returning): No. 25
Thomas Graham, cornerback (rookie): No. 27
Larry Borom, offensive tackle (rookie): No. 75
Teven Jenkins, offensive tackle (rookie): No. 76
Dazz Newsome, wide receiver (rookie): No. 83
Marquise Goodwin, wide receiver (returning): No. 84
Khyiris Tonga, defensive tackle (rookie): No. 95
