Bears guard Nate Davis (back) ruled out prior to kickoff against Patriots

CHICAGO (670 The Score) Bears guard Nate Davis was a late and unexpected addition to the team's injury report Sunday.

Davis was ruled out for the Bears' game against the Patriots due to a back injury. He was added to the injury report three hours before kickoff and 90 minutes prior to inactives being set. Davis hadn't previously been listed on the injury report for his back.

This is the latest setback for Davis, who fell out of a starting role early this season and has been a healthy scratch from the Bears' lineup on previous occasions.

Davis is playing the second season of a three-year, $30-million deal with the Bears. His future with the team is uncertain moving forward.

The Bears' other inactives are left tackle Braxton Jones (knee), right tackle Darnell Wright (knee), reserve tackle Kiran Amegadjie (calf), safety Jaquan Brisker (concussion), defensive end Darrell Taylor (knee), linebacker Noah Sewell (knee) and defensive back Ameer Speed.

Kickoff between the Bears (4-4) and Patriots (2-7) comes at noon CT on Sunday from Soldier Field.
