Bears guard Nate Davis returns from injury

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) -- Bears right guard Nate Davis returned to practice on Monday, this following a two-week absence with an undisclosed injury.

Davis did not play during Saturday's preseason opener. Ja'Tyre Carter, a second-year offensive lineman, filled in for Davis' starting spot at right guard.

Davis worked in a limited role in practice Monday but expressed confidence in his health. He declined to reveal details of his absence.

“What really matters is I’m back now," Davis said.

The 26-year-old Davis signed a three-year, $30-million deal with the Bears this offseason. He played in 55 games (54 starts) over four seasons with the Titans.

The Bears practiced without wide receiver Chase Claypool, linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, safety Jaquan Brisker and pass rusher DeMarcus Walker on Monday.

Coach Matt Eberflus indicated that none of those injuries are considered long-term matters.

“We feel good where everybody is," Eberflus said.

"Everybody is on track.”

The Bears will hold joint practices with the Colts on Wednesday and Thursday nights in Westfield, Ind. This work leads up to the preseason game Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Eberflus indicated the Bears are still determining practice statuses for their injured players for the work in Indianapolis.
