(670 The Score) Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson expressed remorse for and explained an Instagram post of his Wednesday in which he revealed he was fined $2,745 by the team for being late to Halas Hall on Tuesday.
Johnson had only intended to share the post privately with friends, he said Friday. He instead posted it publicly to his more than 50,000 followers. Bears coach Matt Nagy had what he called a “good talk” with Johnson about his mistake.
“At the end of the day, I messed up,” Johnson said. “I posted when I didn’t mean to.
“It was more so a joke to my friends showing how much I got fined for being late.”
The second-year pro Johnson was “surprised” by how the post drew so much attention publicly, he said. He felt his conversation with Nagy brought them to the “same page” about the Bears’ direction moving forward.
“I got to own up to it,” Johnson said. “But I was late, at the end of the day.”
