(670 The Score) The Bears made a major addition to their defense Monday afternoon, agreeing with two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Tremaine Edmunds on a four-year deal, a source said.

The contract includes $50 million guaranteed and could be worth up to $72 million, ESPN reported. Edmunds was the second linebacker of the day that the Bears added, as they reached a three-year deal with T.J. Edwards earlier Monday.

Edmunds, who will turn 25 in May, was a first-round pick of the Bills in 2018 NFL Draft who played in 74 games for the team. He earned Pro Bowl honors in 2019 and 2020. Edmunds had 102 tackles (66 solo, 36 assisted) in 13 games for Buffalo in 2022. He has 6.5 sacks, five interceptions and two forced fumbles in five NFL seasons.

Edmunds was the second off-ball linebacker selected in the 2018 draft behind Roquan Smith, whom he was signed to replace on the Bears' defense.
Chicago dealt Smith to Baltimore late last October prior to the NFL's trade deadline.

Free agents can officially sign with their new teams beginning Wednesday at 3 p.m. CT.
