(670 The Score) The Bears on Thursday named veteran safety Eddie Jackson as their recipient of the Ed Block Courage Award, which is presented to one player on each NFL team who best exemplifies a commitment to sportsmanship and courage and who serves as an inspiration in the locker room.
The award will be presented to Jackson in March at a luncheon celebration in Des Plaines. Jackson had four interceptions in 12 games last season before suffering a season-ending foot injury during a game in late November.
In conjunction with the Ed Block Courage Award, the Bears are supporting Maryville Academy's Crisis Nursery in Des Plaines as their "Courage House." Maryville Academy's Crisis Nursery provides temporary emergency child care for families in crisis.
