Fields will likely be forced to miss Chicago's season finale at Minnesota on Sunday. Veteran Andy Dalton will step in as the Bears' starter if Fields is out. Fields missed the Bears' last two games due to an ankle injury but had been in line to return. Fields is vaccinated, he said earlier in the season.

The 22-year-old Fields has played in 12 games and started in 10 this season, completing 58.9% of his passes for 1,870 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Dalton, 34, has played in seven games and started in five this season, completing 61.7% of his passes for 1,190 yards, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions.

The Bears (6-10) take on the Vikings (7-9) on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium, with kickoff set for noon CT.
