Bears return from bye with 2 key starters still sidelined

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) Bears cornerback Tyrique Stevenson was back on the practice field Monday at Halas Hall, while safety Jaquan Brisker and nickelback Kyler Gordon remained sidelined.

Stevenson missed the Bears’ win in London on Oct. 13 with a calf injury, which he suffered in practice leading up to that game. Brisker has been in the concussion protocol since Oct. 7, when he self-reported symptoms to the team. Gordon left the game in London with a hamstring injury.

The Bears will have a better sense of Gordon’s availability by Wednesday, when they will issue a formal injury report, coach Matt Eberflus said.

Veteran long snapper Scott Daly (knee) was also present for practice Monday. The Bears signed long snapper Jake McQuaide to the practice squad last week as an insurance policy if Daly remains sidelined.

The Bears could soon welcome back reserve offensive lineman Ryan Bates, who opened the season on injured reserve with elbow and shoulder issues. Bates was competing at the center and guard positions prior to his injury.

The Bears (4-2) take on the Commanders (5-2) on Sunday in Washington.
