LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) — Bears rookie running back Roschon Johnson is ready to return.
Johnson has cleared the NFL's concussion protocol after missing the past two games and feels back to full health, he said Thursday. He rejoined the Bears in practice this week and is now in line to play when the Bears visit the Chargers on Sunday.
A fourth-round pick of the Bears in the NFL Draft in April, Johnson has rushed 25 times for 122 yards and one touchdown in five games this season. He suffered the concussion during Chicago's win at Washington on Oct. 5.
In other Bears injury news, quarterback Justin Fields remained sidelined from practice Thursday while recovering from a right thumb injury. With Fields out, rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent is set to start his second straight game. Safety Jaquan Brisker (illness), right guard Nate Davis (high ankle sprain) and cornerback Terell Smith (mono) also didn't practice Thursday.
Rookie tackle Darnell Wright (shoulder/toe) returned to practice in a limited role, while left tackle Braxton Jones (neck) and guard Dan Feeney (knee) remained limited. Veteran pass rusher Khalid Kareem (hip) practiced in full again after recently being designated for a return from injured reserve.
The Bears (2-5) take on the Chargers (2-4) on Sunday at SoFi Stadium, with kickoff set for 7:20 p.m.
