Bears sign RB Spencer Ware to practice squad

(670 The Score) The Bears have signed veteran running back Spencer Ware to their practice squad, they announced Tuesday afternoon.

Ware, 29, appeared in three games for the Chiefs in 2019. He played in Kansas City from 2015-’19, overlapping with Bears coach Matt Nagy for three of those seasons as Nagy was the Chiefs’ quarterbacks coach and then offensive coordinator. Ware has averaged 4.6 yards per carry for his career.

The Bears recently lost running back Lamar Miller from their practice squad to the Washington Football Team.

In other moves Tuesday, Chicago removed receiver Thomas Ives from the reserve/COVID-19 list and placed him on the practice squad. The Bears also activated receiver DeAndre Carter from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
