(670 The Score) The Bears will kick off the preseason on Aug. 1 by playing the Texans in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio.

The Bears' participation in the game comes as they're set to see three former players get inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame that weekend: Steve "Mongo" McMichael, Devin Hester and Julius Peppers. The Texans will have Andre Johnson enshrined as their first Hall of Fame member in franchise history.

This will mark the Bears' sixth time playing in the Hall of Fame Game, with their most recent appearance coming in 2018.

By playing in the Hall of Fame Game, the Bears will start their training camp one week earlier than usual. The full training camp and preseason schedules will be revealed at a later date.
