LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) — Bears receiver Chase Claypool on Wednesday was back on the practice field for the first time in three weeks.
Claypool, who suffered an apparent hamstring injury during practice on Aug. 9, rejoined the Bears as they continued preparations for their regular-season opener.
Claypool, 25, had 14 receptions for 140 yards in seven games with the Bears in 2022. He was acquired from the Steelers last November in exchange for a second-round pick, which became the No. 32 overall pick.
Claypool was enjoying a strong training camp prior to his injury.
"That was his best version of himself," Bears general manager Ryan Poles said. "Making a lot of plays, bringing energy, physicality to the run game and the pass game. At that point, I felt really good. Got a little chipped up there and now he’s working back into it. I liked where he left off where he was at his pinnacle of camp."
With the exception of left guard Teven Jenkins, the Bears expect their long list of players previously dealing with injuries to be healthy for the season opener, coach Matt Eberflus said Tuesday. Jenkins is considered week-to-week with a leg injury.
Jenkins wasn't present with the Bears for practice Wednesday. Safety Jaquan Brisker and center Doug Kramer also didn't practice.
The Bears host the Packers on Sept. 10 at Soldier Field in their opener.
