Brad Biggs explains why Kevin Warren isn't likely to publicly address Bears' woes

(670 The Score) As the Bears have struggled in their 1-5 start and dealt with problems on the field and off of it, a familiar question has emerged.

Why haven't we heard from president/CEO Kevin Warren? Is he going to display leadership by publicly addressing the team's issues? The answer, as of Thursday afternoon, has been no. Warren has remained publicly silent.

And there's a good reason for that, Tribune reporter Brad Biggs told the Mully & Haugh Show – the risk of speaking publicly would outweigh the benefit.

"I just don't think it's the time or place to hear from that guy," Biggs said. "Look around the league, and how often do you see a team president address the season during the middle of it? And this excludes owners – if you own the football team, it's a completely different ballgame and the rules are written by you, the guy who owns the team.

"I get it – people want, I believe what they want is Kevin to share the frustration that they have that the Bears are 1-5, that they continue to have a difficult time. Well, if Kevin were to walk downstairs at Halas Hall and express that frustration and that type of thing, I think you could get a real negative impact for the Bears moving forward. I know that would give the impression around the league that, 'Hey, check this out, the Bears have got this overbearing president and CEO now.' And maybe that impacts you the next time you're going out to hire someone for a very key position in the organization – I don't know, like head coach. Or if they were to find themselves, the next time they find themselves in a GM search. That kind of stuff would matter to those people in my opinion."
