LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) — Eight slots after making a significant franchise investment in quarterback Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Bears then made a pick to support him.
The Bears selected Washington receiver Rome Odunze with the No. 9 overall pick, which Williams learned of backstage at the draft in Detroit.
"We got our guy," Williams shouted out. "We got out guy."
Williams and Odunze struck up a friendship during the pre-draft process. Through the two were rivals in the Pac-12 — with Williams at USC as Odunze was at Washington — they'll become a quarterback-receiver tandem in Chicago.
The Bears will introduce Williams and Odunze in a press conference Friday afternoon at Halas Hall.
