(670 The Score) New Cowboys defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus is bringing a pair of his former Bears assistant coaches to Dallas.
The Cowboys on Wednesday officially hired Bears linebackers coach Dave Borgonzi to the same position in Dallas and safeties coach Andre Curtis as their defensive passing game coordinator.
Borgonzi and Curtis had each remained on staff under new Bears head coach Ben Johnson with their futures unclear prior to Wednesday, when their hirings with the Cowboys became official. Both assistant coaches spent the last three years in Chicago alongside Eberflus, who was fired on Nov. 29.
Eberflus was officially hired as the Cowboys' new defensive coordinator Tuesday, joining new Dallas head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
Johnson had already informed several other Eberflus assistants that they won't be retained. The Bears have formally announced the hirings of offensive coordinator Declan Doyle and defensive coordinator Dennis Allen while confirming that special teams coordinator Richard Hightower will be retained in his same role.
The Bears will unveil Johnson's full coaching staff at a later date.
