LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) — Bears safety Eddie Jackson has been named the Jeff Dickerson Good Guy Award winner, given in conjunction with the Pro Football Writers Association to the Chicago player who best accommodates the local media.
The award was presented to Jackson at Halas Hall on Thursday, which marked the two-year anniversary of Dickerson's passing from colon cancer. The Bears and media members gathered to celebrate his life and legacy. Dickerson was a beloved veteran reporter on the Bears beat.
"You guys did a fine job raising him," Jackson said to Jeff's parents, George and Sandy Dickerson.
As part of the award presentation, the Vaughn McClure & Jeff Dickerson Foundation pledged $1,000 to the charity of the winner's choice. Jackson chose his own non-profit, the Remain To Reach Foundation. A $1,000 donation is also being made in honor of the 2022 winner, tight end Cole Kmet, who selected the Special Olympics as his charity.
The seven-year veteran Jackson has played 98 games for the Bears since he was selected in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
