Former Bears CB Buster Skrine arrested on fraud charges

(670 The Score) Former Bears cornerback Buster Skrine was arrested in Canada on multiple charges of fraud, according to a release from the Durham Regional Police.

According to the police report, Skrine was arrested Wednesday night at Pearson International Airport after investigators "became aware of a male that was attending numerous financial institutions where he would identify himself as a retired NFL player. He would open bank accounts with fraudulent (checks) and obtain a portion of the money prior to the (check) clearing."

Investigators believe Skrine committed offenses all across Canada, totaling more than $100,000.

Skrine, 34, played 11 years in the NFL, including 2019-'20 with the Bears as the team's starting nickel corner. He made more than $40 million in career earnings as a player, according to Spotrac.
