(670 The Score) In its most recent mock draft, Ourlads projected the Bears to select Ohio State star receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft.
On the Mully & Haugh Show on Wednesday morning, the crew debated the merits of such a selection. Is there any scenario in which that would be justifiable? Or would it be a terribly poor decision?
“No one is taking a wide receiver first in this draft – I can guarantee you that,” host Mike Mulligan said. “You don’t take that position (at No. 1).”
“You could trade a spot or maybe two spots and get that player and get a king’s ransom. And you’d wind up with the best player in the draft and you’d get a lot if you believe in Justin Fields.”
Harrison was a two-time consensus All-American at Ohio State. He had 67 catches for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns in 12 games in 2023.
