It didn't take long for Bears rookie Justin Fields to develop anti-Packers mentality

(AUDACY) While Chicago rookie quarterback Justin Fields may need to have patience before he takes over the starting job, he's already ahead of the game in developing a good Bears mentality.

In a video clip posted by @BearsFilmRoom from "1920 Football Drive," Fields was asked about who his center was at Ohio State and whether he was drafted. Josh Myers was drafted, Fields said — it's just that he was selected by the wrong team -- the Packers.

When you record an outlandishly high mental aptitude test, as discussed in the video at the top of this page, you're expected to learn quickly on the football field. Fields is doing that, Bears coach Matt Nagy has said while praising him early on. Beyond that, Fields is developing the ideal sort of mindset for a Bears quarterback to — if not thrive on the gridiron — at least make a good impression on the fan base that's champing at the bit for a franchise star to lead them back to glory.

It appears that Fields had been gaining that sort of strong following before this clip came out anyway, as he's all over the list of the NFL's top-selling jerseys.
