Bears safety Jaquan Brisker will miss his 5th straight game Sunday due to his concussion

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) – Bears safety Jaquan Brisker will miss his fifth straight game Sunday as part of a concerning absence in the concussion protocol.

The Bears on Wednesday ruled out Brisker for their game against the Packers on Sunday at Soldier Field. Brisker entered the concussion protocol on Oct. 7, when he self-reported symptoms one day after his violent collision with Panthers tight end Tommy Tremble.

This marks Brisker's third known concussion during his three NFL seasons. He also entered the NFL’s concussion protocol in each of the past two seasons.

"I always have concern with anyone that's in concussion (protocol),” coach Matt Eberflus said of Brisker on Oct. 23. "It's a big injury. It's something that you've got to be very careful about and our guys do a great job with those guys working through the protocol. That's why it's in place and that's why the NFL has instituted that. It's where it is right now and we're hoping that he's getting better every single day."

Three weeks have passed since those comments from Eberflus, and Brisker still hasn’t been cleared to return to action. Brisker has been present with the Bears at Halas Hall.

On Wednesday, the Bears did welcome back right tackle Darnell Wright (knee) and left tackle Braxton Jones (knee) after they each missed Chicago’s loss to New England on Sunday. Veteran defensive end Darrell Taylor (knee) also returned to practice. Star pass rusher Montez Sweat (ankle) and left guard Teven Jenkins (ankle) were held out of work.

The Bears (4-5) host the Packers (6-3) on Sunday at Soldier Field.
