(670 The Score) Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson will return to action when Chicago hosts Minnesota on Oct. 15, he told the Parkins & Spiegel Show on Friday evening.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure,” Johnson said.

Johnson has missed Chicago’s last two games due to a hamstring injury. His return would be crucial because he’s the top cornerback for a Bears team that will face a great challenge against Vikings star receiver Justin Jefferson, who has an NFL-high 543 receiving yards entering Week 5. Jefferson is averaging 16.5 yards per reception and has three touchdowns in four games.

Johnson made clear he’ll do whatever the coaching staff asks of him, but he’d like to shadow Jefferson all over the field, regardless of where he lines up.

“I’m definitely hoping they give me that matchup and kind of let me run loose with him,” Johnson said.

The Bears (1-4) earned their first win of the season Thursday with a 40-20 victory against the Commanders. The players have the weekend off before returning to work Monday at Halas Hall.

The Bears (1-4) will host the Vikings (1-3) at noon CT on Oct. 15 at Soldier Field.
