Poles conducted an interview Tuesday with former Colts and Lions head coach Jim Caldwell and is slated to interview Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus on Wednesday. All three of those apparent finalists were selected by the Bears’ search team prior to the hiring of Poles.

Former NFL executive and Audacy Sports insider Michael Lombardi believes Poles should expand his search with the Bears to bring in more finalists, and he has a certain candidate in mind for who would fit in Chicago.

“If these three are the finalists, then he should go interview somebody else – somebody else that he’s comfortable with,” Lombardi told the Mully & Haugh Show on Wednesday. “I mean, he worked with (Chiefs offensive coordinator) Eric Bieniemy. He has watched Eric Bieniemy work his whole time that he’s been there. Why doesn’t he interview him? Why doesn’t he bring him in? I mean, he knows.

“Brian Flores is the perfect fit for Chicago. He’s tough. He’s going to be defensive. He’s going to make sure the offense can function. To me, I see that. But I’m not in that chair.”
