Report: Bears to hire Richard Smith as linebackers coach

(670 The Score) The Bears will hire veteran assistant coach Richard Smith as their new linebackers coach, the Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday.

Smith, 64, spent the last three years as the Colts' linebackers coach. He's the father of now-former Bears defensive line coach Travis Smith, who wasn't retained to his role after new head coach Ben Johnson was hired.

Smith will replace former Bears linebackers coach Dave Borgonzi, who accepted the same position with the Cowboys.
