(670 The Score) The Bears will sign quarterback Kyle Sloter to their practice squad, NFL Media reported Monday.
Sloter, 26, will give the Bears an insurance policy at quarterback while backup Mitchell Trubisky recovers from a right shoulder injury. Sloter has spent time with the Broncos, Cardinals, Vikings and Lions since arriving in the NFL in 2017. He has yet to play in a regular-season game.
Trubisky doesn't need surgery to repair his shoulder injury, and the Bears don't expect to place him on injured reserve. While Trubisky is out, Sloter would be third in line on the Bears' quarterback depth chart, working behind starter Nick Foles and backup Tyler Bray.
