(670 The Score) The Bears have added veteran tight end Robert Tonyan on a one-year deal, the team announced Thursday evening. The contract is pending completion of a physical.

Tonyan, 28, posted 137 receptions for 1,437 yards and 17 touchdowns in 68 games with the Packers over the last five seasons.

A native of nearby McHenry, Tonyan signed with the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He had 11 touchdown receptions for Green Bay in 2020 ago and emerged as a key target for quarterback Aaron Rodgers during his third MVP campaign.

Tonyan posted 53 receptions for 470 yards and two touchdowns in 2022.

By signing Tonyan, the Bears will create a dynamic tandem at tight end that includes Cole Kmet, who led Chicago with 50 receptions for 544 yards and seven touchdowns in 2022.

The Bears haven't yet made their deal with Tonyan official.
