Source: Former Bears returner Jakeem Grant to sign 3-year deal with Browns

(670 The Score) Pro Bowl returner Jakeem Grant will sign a three-year deal with the Browns worth up to $13.8 million, a source said late Tuesday night. The deal was first reported by NFL Media.

Grant, 29, was acquired by the Bears in a trade last October and excelled as one of the league's top return specialists. He averaged 13.9 yards per punt return with the Bears while scoring on a 97-yard touchdown in addition to averaging 23.5 yards on kickoff returns.

Grant also recorded nine receptions and two receiving touchdowns in the Bears' offense last season. He had spent parts of six seasons with the Dolphins previously before being acquired by the Bears.

Grant earned Pro Bowl honors for the first time last season for his work as a returner.

The deal between Grant and the Browns can become official Wednesday at 3 p.m. CT with the start of the NFL's new league year.
