T.J. Edwards: Fixing slow starts is a 'point of emphasis' for Bears

(670 The Score) The Bears are off to a 4-2 start despite being on the wrong side of an alarming trend early this season.

The Bears have allowed the first points in all six of their games this season. The trend began with the Bears falling behind 17-0 to the Titans in their season opener and continued into London this past Sunday, when the Jaguars used a 14-play, 67-yard drive to take a 3-0 lead early before Chicago cruised to a 35-16 win against Jacksonville.

Though the Bears have usually responded well to their early deficits, linebacker T.J. Edwards knows that correcting the slow starts will be important.

“It’s definitely a point of emphasis for us, is kind of getting things rolling early,” Edwards said on the Bernstein & Harris Show on Tuesday. “I think that starts confidence for our team.

‘When you can do those things early, it helps us so much more.”

The Bears will return to action by visiting the Washington Commanders (4-2) on Oct. 27.
