LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) — Bears cornerback Tyrique Stevenson has earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his strong performance in the season opener.
Stevenson had the game-changing play in the Bears' 24-17 win against the Titans on Sunday, as he returned an interception 43 yards for a go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter at Soldier Field.
Stevenson earned the Player of the Week honor for the second time in his career, as he also received that recognition in Week 17 of the 2023 season.
A second-round pick of the Bears in 2023, Stevenson has held down a starting cornerback job in Chicago's secondary over the past two seasons.
The Bears (1-0) visit the Houston Texans (1-0) on Sunday night.
